Marketing Director

The Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo is looking for a new team member to oversee the marketing and promotion of the programs and services of the Arts Council, as well as champion the promotional needs of our members.  The ideal candidate will have proven marketing skills, great insight into the promotional needs of the arts, and the ability to develop and execute marketing plans with a small team of staff and contractors on a challenging schedule.

If you are drawn to creativity, but have the pension for structure and schedules, this is the perfect position for you.  The Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo works with a social media specialist on staff and design, printing, and advertising contractors to execute the marketing plan for the organization.  This is a full-time salaried position that requires at least 40 hours a week, primarily in our office, and will be needed for some evenings and weekends.

Development Director

Join the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo’s team in this brand-new position.  The Development Director for the Arts Council will be responsible for the fund development activities of the organization through grants, sponsorships, and contributions.  This position also oversees the regranting programs of the Arts Council, providing the management of the various programs and the mentorship and education of our members.

This position is a full-time salaried position that requires at least 40 hours a week, primarily in our office, and will be needed for some evenings and weekends.

Community Box Office Manager

This brand-new position will open Kalamazoo’s first community box office.  Operating through the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo for the Tessitura Consortium in Kalamazoo, this position is responsible for the ensuring the success of the Community Box Office Project and the utilization of a single database to provide the best customer service experiences for consortium donors, patrons, clients, and staff.

This position is a full-time salaried position that will be responsible to manage part-time box office staff, communicate regularly with client box office and sales staff, and provide excellent customer service directly to community patrons.  Some weekend and evenings commitments are required in this position.

Social Media Specialist

Join our team with this part-time hourly position that develops and posts content on all social media channels for the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo.  Supervised by the Marketing Director, this position will ensure an active, engaged, and positive presence in the social media arena.  Do you like to create posts, and interact with artists in cyberspace, than this job is for you. Some in person office work will be required.

Membership Specialist

This brand-new part-time position will focus on membership engagement, providing members and prospective members with the accurate information on the services and benefits provided by the Art Council, and well as provide feedback to the Art s Council team from current and prospective members. This position requires 20 hours a week with the ability to work more if necessary.

Bookkeeper

The Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo is looking for the right money-minded individual to serve as its part-time bookkeeper.  This new position will report to the Finance Director, and will be responsible for the process of our receivables and payables, as well as reconciliation of accounts, and assisting in the administration of payroll, and employee benefits.

If you like working on a team in a creative environment, and are detail oriented, this is the position for you.

Theatre Technicians (various roles)

The ACGK is looking for various theatre technicians to staff rentals in the Jolliffe Theatre in the Epic Center downtown, Kalamazoo. Rentals may include meetings, rehearsals, performances, lectures, and special events (dinners, award ceremonies, etc.).

Roles range from House Manager, Stage Manager, Stage Technicians, Light Board/Video Operator, and Sound Board Operator and are hired on a per-project, contracted basis. Wages range from $15 – $20 an hour. The Jolliffe Theatre is in use approximately 250 days a year and is used during early morning, daytime, and evenings.
