As a musical artist with a constant flow of ideas for future projects, the Arts Council has been imperative to my creative endeavors. Through their granting programs like the KADI grant specifically, I received necessary funding that allowed my visions to become realities. By helping artists through funding, providing performance opportunities, and supporting/advising artists of all areas and levels, the Arts Council allows our flourishing artist community to be even stronger, better and more creative. | The Black Arts & Cultural Center's Arts Council membership is beneficial because it assists with promotion and provides increased opportunity for collaboration with other arts organizations. As an independent artist as well, financial support from the Arts Council toward album production and programming through my arts consulting company, Soul Artistry LLC, has increased capacity and allowed for the provision of necessary arts programming in the community. | Farmers Alley Theatre has been a dedicated member of the Arts Council since our inception back in 2008. I have always made a point to address how lucky we are to have such a robust arts scene and that our central city area has been such a great focal point for that artistic success. The Arts Council's presence is crucial in keeping arts in Kalamazoo a "family business" and making all of us feel part of the same team. I always appreciate their kindness and involvement in making our community a vibrant place to live. |
