Kalamazoo Chinese Academy Moon Festival

KCA is hosting a Moon Festival celebration on Sunday, 10/1/23 from 2-5PM at the Portage Zhang Senior Center. (Facebook event link)

Come celebrate the Moon Festival, a.k.a. Mid-Autumn Festival (中秋节)!
There will be food, games, and activities for all ages, including:

Kids hanfu parade
Bounce house
Bunny ear ring toss 🐰
Drink ring toss
Mooncake Playdough station 🥮
Lantern craft 🏮
Calligraphy and art display
Fishing and duck match 🎣🦆
Houyi Bow and arrow 🏹 Sun take down
Bubble station 🫧
Face painting
Silent auction
Moon cakes, bubble tea, and various Asian snacks.
Chang’e the moon goddess and her Jade Rabbit might drop by.

Additionally, we are giving away 50 copies of The First Moon Festival!

If you are registered for the 2023-24 KCA school year, please check your email for a form to claim your free book. Any remaining books will be given away on a first come first serve basis (1 per family).

Author/Illustrator L Sam Zhang will be present for book signings, and all books in The First Chinese Festivals series will be available for sale.
