Formed at a meeting of citizens in 1914 at the Park-American Hotel (the site of the current YWCA), Kalamazoo became the 142nd Rotary Club in what has grown to over 31,000 clubs internationally. Among the many projects Rotarians support, both locally and internationally, is the construction and maintenance of the Rotary Stage in Bronson Park where the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo presents Concerts in the Park every summer.
For more than 30 years, the Kalamazoo Big Band has quietly gained a reputation as West Michigan’s premiere swing band.
