Most of my artistic work experience is in the graphic design field where I have created many print materials, digital files, logos, campaigns and websites for many clients of many sizes and industries. Currently, I am actively freelancing my graphic design services and working on steel sculpture art projects — and other artwork. In 2007, I received the Irving S. Gilmore Emerging Artist Grant from the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo. The grant helped me immensely to learn more about welding as I was just a beginner and how to set up my own shop. I do work in a variety of media, and am juried into the Signature Artists group of Kalamazoo as a steel and mixed media artist. I have taught intermediate welding at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, and now that I am not teaching, I am exploring different media such as poetry, encaustics and ceramics.
