Position Overview:

The Marketing Intern is responsible for supporting all aspects of the marketing and social media functions for the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo.   The Marketing Intern reports to the Executive Director.

The Marketing Intern will help support both the media and public relations for the for Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo (ACGK) and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Kalamazoo Cultural Center (The Epic Center) (KCC).  They will also support the design and development of all marketing content for ACGK and KCC marketing materials.

The Marketing Intern will assist with all publications, web and social media marketing. They are also responsible for working with the ACGK staff to develop and update content on the website and identify resources to make available on the website.

This is a part-time, hourly, FLSA exempt position.  This position requires at least 20 hours of work per week with the ability to work more if necessary.

Education / Experience/Knowledge:

Education Required:

  • Seeking a degree in an area related to Marketing or equivalent

Desired:

  • BA, BS or similar in an area related to Marketing or equivalent

Experience Required:

  • 1-2 years experience in an area related to Marketing or equivalent

Desired:

  • 3-5 years experience in an area related to Marketing or equivalent

Knowledge Required:

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • WordPress, Joomla, or similar products
  • Bloomerang

Desired:

  • QuickBooks Pro, Adobe products, Tessitura

Position Overview:

The Integrated Membership/Media Specialist is responsible for all aspects of the membership, marketing and social media functions for the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo.   The Integrated Membership/Media Specialist reports to the Executive Director.

The Integrated Membership/Media Specialist will collaborate with Executive Director in developing overall Membership and Marketing strategies for Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo (ACGK) and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Kalamazoo Cultural Center (The Epic Center) (KCC).  They are responsible for managing, developing and overseeing all content on the website and all aspects of social media.  This position will develop, manage and oversee additional positions in support of those responsibilities as necessary.

This position will focus on member engagement and identify ways members can become more involved with ACGK, based on individual interests.  The Integrated Membership/Marketing Specialist will manage and strengthen relationships with members, clients, partners, and coworkers. They will develop and oversee membership recruitment and retention plans and prepare and submit monthly membership reports.

The Integrated Membership/Media Specialist will serve as the main media contact and handle all public relations for ACGK and KCC.  They will oversee all marketing content, design, and distribution for ACGK and KCC marketing materials.  This position will attend community events and volunteer on behalf of ACGK and KCC at community events, boards, and committees.  They will seek opportunities for ACGK and KCC to be involved in community collaborations.

  • MA or MBA in an area related to Marketing or equivalent

Experience Required:

  • 5-7 years experience in an area related to Marketing or equivalent

Position Overview:

The Office Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the office management for the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo.   The Office Coordinator supports and reports to the Executive Director.

The Office Coordinator will ensure the office is open and visitors are greeted and attended to as well as field and route all incoming calls appropriately during office hours. They will maintain all office equipment and adequate stock of office supplies.  This position will create and manage filing and archiving process for all office files (i.e., HR, equipment, contracts, etc.).

  • Open and sort incoming mail in compliance with established Accounting protocols
  • Manage keys and security codes for all employees

The Office Coordinator will act as the Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director.  They will field and screen all calls and visitors and assist in the scheduling of appointments on and off-site.  This position will prepare and distribute correspondence, reports and other documents on behalf of the Executive Director via mail, fax, email and phone or in person.  They will participate and remain up to date on all Arts Council offerings, including events, festivals, educational and grant offerings and be able to speak informatively about these topics, as well as other arts events in the community.  They will be asked to attend functions and meetings, including after hours, to assist as necessary.

The Office Coordinator will organize and maintain all Board records including:

  • Prepare and distribute agendas and board packets
  • Update and communicate contact information as necessary
  • Maintain excellent records of agendas, minutes and policies
  • Correspond with committees as necessary
  • Take minutes of all board meetings

The Office Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with recruiting efforts.  They will be responsible for placing job advertisements as instructed, processing applications, correspond with candidates and prepare contracts and letters of agreement. This position will create personnel files for new employees and maintain applicant records in accordance with document retention and destruction policy.  The Office Coordinator will maintain resumes and contracts for contracted employees.

This is a full time, hourly, FLSA non-exempt position.  This position requires at least 40 hours of work per week with the ability to work more if necessary.

General Office/Clerical

Art Hop Facilitator

Facilitators assist artists in a single location during the evening of Art Hop. They keep a record of works sold, and provide receipts to patrons that make a purchase. They interact with Art Hop guests, and encourage them to provide contact information to ACGK so as to be added to our hop postcard distribution. This requires a time commitment of anywhere between 1 – 4 hours on Art Hop nights, including pick-up and return of packet materials to the Arts Council. This is a fun task for friends, spouses, or relatives who’d like to work together.

  • Hours: First Friday of each month [5-9pm].
  • Minimum Age: 21
  • Minimum Age with Adult: 18
  • Opportunity End Date: Ongoing

ACGK Art Hop Ambassador

Art Hop Ambassadors are our people on the street. We need you to reach out to the community to assist in promoting an active presence of the ACGK throughout Art Hop, strengthen relationships with Art Hop partners, create visible tie between the Arts Council and Art Hop, distribute promotional material to the community, represent the Arts Council by building relationships with the community, acting as eyes and ears, helping to monitor Art Hop activities as well as supplementing staff and assisting duties. This requires a time commitment of anywhere between 1 – 4 hours on Art Hop nights, including pick-up and return of packet materials to the Arts Council. This is a fun task for friends, spouses, or relatives who’d like to work together.

Event Volunteers

Volunteers needed for various events throughout the year. Events include, but are not limited to, All Ears Theatre performances, Bravo! performances, Concerts in the Park performances, Make Music Kalamazoo summer music festival, United Teens Talent auditions and performance, the Community Arts Award program and more. Volunteers may assist Arts Council staff, performers, act as ushers or greeters, serve refreshments, or other various duties.
