The Great Lakes Nostalgia Convention is where today meets yesterday with celebrity guests from the wonderful world of classic movies, TV shows and old-time radio dramas. You’ll be captivated by a variety of expert presentations on entertainers and shows from years gone by. Buy and sell memorabilia from Hollywood’s golden age in the Vendors room. Experi- ence old-time radio dramas come to life as the convention offers several live, onstage radio re-creation performances. Early arrivers are invited to a special meet and greet Thursday evening reception with our convention stars, Beverly Washburn and Ivan Cury. This reception is included in the pre-registration weekend rate or you can purchase a separate admission to the reception only.

Beverly Nelson started out as a child actor of film and television and she hasn’t slowed down since. Her resume includes appearances in classics such as Old Yeller, The Lone Ranger, Here Comes the Groom, The Loretta Young Show, The Greatest Show on Earth, and the first Superman theatrical film entitled Superman and the Mole Men. She is an accomplished actress, voiceover artist and author. She has worked with many great actors including Jack Benny, Dick Powell, Charles Boyer, Boris Karloff, Martin Sheen and many others. She is also known for her role as Lieutenant Arlene Galway on the original NBC televisions show Star Trek.

Ivan Cury has considerable experience behind the camera as well as in front of it. Starting back in 1949, Ivan was the lead actor on the popular radio and television series Bobby Benson and the B Bar B Riders and appeared on many other shows. He became an experienced television director and producer for CBS and for NET, which earned him recognition through many regional and national Emmy awards. Ivan then spent 15 years as a college professor of Communication Studies and Broadcasting at Cal State University.
