Inja Cho is a Korean-American artist who has been working in her studio in downtown Kalamazoo since 2008. She studied fine art in painting at Western Michigan University graduating magna cum laude. She also studied painting and art history at the Studio Art Center International (SACI) in Florence, Italy—a study abroad program through Western Michigan University as well as painting and drawing at the Art Students League in New York, NY. Inja's art is typically very personal in nature. Obsessed with composition, texture, graphics and pattern, her favorite media include oil, ink, acrylic, gouache, watercolor and many experimental mixed media materials. Inja's work often manifests itself as organic, biomorphic and subconscious creations. Inspired by the rejuvenating creative process, Inja is currently exploring the effects of the internal emotions and how they morph into physical pieces.
