Join the Kalamazoo Junior Symphony Orchestra on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at 4 pm at Chenery Auditorium in Kalamazoo for an afternoon of orchestral masterworks. The season finale for the KJSO will showcase two exceptional young soloists. First, presenting the winner of the KJSO's 23/24 Internal Concerto Competition, the talented flautist Julianna Stauffer, performing “Carmen Fantasie Brillante” by Francois Borne. Following her performance, the audience will enjoy the artistry of rising international star Harmony Zhu, who will perform Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2. This collaboration with Harmony Zhu has been made possible by the generous support of the Gilmore Piano Festival, sponsored by Jan and Ed Sackley, who will present her as a distinguished Young Artist as part of this year’s Festival. The second half of the concert will feature the orchestra performing Dvorak's Symphony No. 9 “From the New World,” promising an unforgettable conclusion to the season.
