Aiming to promote reconciliation, peace, and forgiveness, Lantern Festival marks the first full moon of the new lunar year and the end of the Lunar New Year celebration.

Hosted by Asian Initiatives of Western Michigan University, the 2023 Lantern Festival Gala gathers Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, Community Voice (Crescendo Academy of Music), award winning Peking Opera actress, dance groups, schools and individual talents of greater Kalamazoo area, brings the evening of celebration for love and diversity through performing arts of distinct authenticities.
