Jordan Eagles uses animal and human blood in his artworks to explore themes of life, death, spirituality, and politics related to the human body.
In works like American Carnage 6/4-11, currently on view in Unmasking Masculinity, Eagles comments on blood donation policies that prohibit members of the LGBTQIA+ community from donating blood. To commemorate World AIDS Day, visitors are invited to visit the KIA during the afternoon of December 1 to converse with Eagles about his work. Guests will also be invited to step into a photo booth, where Eagles’ will project images from his blood illuminations series onto their faces. The photos, taken by Eagles, will be texted to guests after their visit.
