Printmakers Guild Exhibit

Presented by Kellogg Community College at Kellogg Community College | Davidson Visual and Performing Arts Center

The exhibit, “Printmakers Guild Exhibit,” will run from Monday, Feb. 28, through Wednesday, March 23, in the Eleanor R. and Robert A. DeVries Gallery of the Davidson Visual and Performing Arts Center, on campus at 450 North Ave. in Battle Creek. The exhibit is free and open to the public during regular gallery business hours, which are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

An opening reception for the exhibit, also free and open to the public, will be held with the artists from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 3, in the gallery.

This exhibition features more than three dozen works created by members of the regional Southwest Michigan Printmakers via a variety of traditional and new printmaking techniques, giving the public a glimpse at the rich and diverse applications of the media.

Artists from the Battle Creek/Kalamazoo area exhibiting works include Vicki VanAmeyden, Donald Van Auken, Martin Hubbard and Gerald Mackey.

The Southwest Michigan Printmakers is an informal group of regional artist/printmakers dedicated to the creation of handmade and fine art prints. The group, which formed in the 1970s at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, meets bimonthly and regularly exhibits their work to encourage public knowledge, understanding and support for printmaking.
