Conrad Egyir will provide insight about his practice, rise within the contemporary arts scene, and one of the KIA’s newest acquisitions by the artist entitled, Irving’s Class, 2021. A Cranbrook Academy of Art graduate, Conrad Egyir’s works gained international attention after being used in Beyonce’s 2020 summer visual album and film, Black is King. Egyir’s paintings draw from western symbolism, pop culture, Afrocentric folklore combined with his studies of political, philosophical, and religious ideologies. Egyir’s work has been shown in and acquired by numerous galleries and museums across the U.S. and in Ghana.
