Katie Mumby

Katie Mumby is a painter and textile artist based in Kalamazoo, Michigan. They work with themes of nature, sustainability, and the illusions of time. Utilizing bold and often acidic colors, they create a dream world in both acrylic and oil paint, as well as in felting and embroidery.

In a country filled with rush, anxiety, uncertainty, and stress, what would happen if the people in it were prescribed nature?  E.J. Manting-Banyon focuses her work on the moods and thoughts we experience in relationship to the environment around us.  She paints landscapes as a reminder of a place that can slow us down and perhaps heal us.
