Sounds of the Season

Presented by Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra at Chenery Auditorium

Concert Details

Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra (KSO) presents its annual Sounds of the Season holiday tribute Friday, Dec. 17 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 18 at 3 p.m. at Chenery Auditorium.

Sounds of the Seasons offers good cheer for the whole family and performances of holiday favorites, as well as the Oscar-nominated short-animated film, The Snowman, with the orchestra performing the score. Joining the KSO to sing a very special solo in The Snowman is local soloist, and Portage Central High School freshman, Carly Rose Koch.

Concert goers are encouraged to get into the holiday spirit and come dressed in festive holiday attire. There will be a photo booth station located in the northeast corner of Chenery Auditorium, closest to the Dutton Street entrance. A photo contest will be held on social media with a chance to win prizes that include four tickets to a KSO concert of choice, two tickets to E.T. The Extra Terrestrial in Concert on Feb. 18, or two tickets to the next KSO Masterworks concert, Stulberg: Bach Double on Jan. 22.

The KSO is celebrating its 100-year anniversary of bringing vibrant musical experiences to Kalamazoo and Southwest Michigan. The organization’s first concert was held on Dec. 21, 1921. Special announcements regarding the KSO’s 100th Anniversary will be made at both Friday and Saturday’s concerts.
