Composer and pianist Michael Brown joins the KSO for the world premiere performance of his Concerto for Piano and Strings. He created this piece in collaboration with the Gilmore Keyboard Festival and NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra.
The KSO welcomes composer and pianist Michael Brown for our fourth Final Friday Digital Concert Hall performance, premiering online on Friday, April 30, at 7 p.m.
The orchestra's string section comes together for a beautiful program of pieces from Béla Bartók and Franz Schubert, as well as the world premiere performance of composer and pianist Michael Brown's Concerto for Piano and Strings. Brown composed the work as a co-commission by the Gilmore Keyboard Festival in Kalamazoo and NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra in Wroclaw, Poland, and dedicated it to Ludwig van Beethoven in recognition of the 250th anniversary of his birth. They shared it with the KSO to premiere the composition as part of the symphony's 100th anniversary season.
