Media Project Incubator
The Media Project incubator is designed to make media accessible to people in our community who have great ideas but aren’t sure how to make them happen: People who can’t afford studio time or attend all-day training sessions. People who don’t usually see themselves represented in public media.  We are particularly interested in shows made by and for people of color, LGBTQ folks, immigrants, and people of marginalized genders.

Who should join the Media Project Incubator?

You, if you have an idea for a media project, one time or ongoing series, that fits our mission: “Public Media Network empowers people through media to amplify creative expression, community dialogue, and cultural understanding."  And if you have some time to learn media production (podcasting, video, storytelling) and create a media project.

What happens next?

Our facilitators will help you develop your idea into a production plan, and teach you how to start creating y our media.  We'll then help you put it all together along with other creators in your incubator cohort.  We'll then set a premiere date for your content, launch your program, and promote it with listings on our website and other platforms.  We'll work with you to organize a community screening and discussion of your work. At the end of your program season, you will own everything you made under a non-commercial creative commons license, and you will be all set to keep producing media content for the community.

What is the price to participate?

The participation fee for Public Media Network members is $25,  non-members is $50. A limited number of Participation Fee scholarships are available.

There is no fee to apply to the program.

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30PM - 8:30 PM EDT
