From Earth and Fire: Contemporary Japanese Ceramic...

Presented by Kalamazoo Institute of Arts at Kalamazoo Institute of Arts

The Kalamazoo Institute of Arts presents a new exhibition: From Earth and Fire: Contemporary Japanese Ceramics, from the Carol and Jeffrey Horvitz Collection.

Inspired by the popularity of last year’s exhibition highlighting Japanese ceramics, the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts presents this exciting new show. This new exhibit will illuminate some of the most cutting-edge, energetic, and original works acquired by the Horvitzes over the last three years.

Showcasing nearly twenty works, the exhibition highlights the shift from functional forms to artworks that challenge and expand the imaginative properties of the medium.

This exhibit will be available from March 26, 2021 to June 17, 2021.

The KIA gallery hours are Fridays and Saturdays from 11 am to 5 pm. Tickets to visit the gallery are $5 for non-members and free for KIA members. Appointments can be made online.
