Tibbits Summer Theatre Presents “Love Letters”

THE SHOW WILL GO ON–but we have to adapt again. All performances of Love Letters will now be held at The Ponds in Coldwater, just minutes from Tibbits Opera House. We had expected the governor’s order restricting theatres from opening to have been lifted. Our apologies for the inconvenience.

Your ticket will be automatically transferred to the new location.  The Ponds offers a secluded, sheltered outdoor setting with both space for social distancing and privacy to enjoy an intimate performance. Don’t forget your mask!

There is plenty of parking available and golf carts will be available to help transport patrons to the pavilion where the performance will take place.

Letters exchanged over a lifetime create a unique and imaginative piece of theatre. Andrew and Melissa grew up together and share a lifetime of confidences despite going their separate ways.  Their lifelong correspondence begins with childhood thank you notes and postcards, then moves into letters through boarding school, college and their adult lives navigating their marriages, children and daily struggles. It becomes eloquently clear how much they really mean and gae to each other over the years–physically apart, perhaps, but spiritually as close as only true lovers can be.

Time magazine sums up Love Letters  perfectly: “Few plays have been tinier, or more beautiful than this tender sketch of the bond between two people who cannot live with, or without, each other.”

We are practicing social distancing, including adding Plexiglas at points of sale and taking additional cleaning steps to ensure the safety of our patrons and staff.
