Learn the basics of free improvised music and practice improvising with others. All levels and instruments welcome.
This workshop is free and open to the public. Bring your instrument (or voice) to come explore improvised music. Led by Nashville improvised music composer Matt Endahl, you'll get to try reading his score titled, "Jacob's Ladder" for 12 improvisers.
Later this same evening, come experience this unique work of music created before your eyes by professional musicians. Both composed and freely improvised by 12 players, this work features Nashville's Matt Endahl, the composer and pianist, Kalamazoo-based musicians, and other members of Endahl's original "Doomsday Philharmonic" who recorded the original in 2018.
Free admission.
