A series of new paintings by Natalya Critchley inspired by the Exodus in Venezuela
An exhibit by Anglo-Venezuelan artist Natalya Critchley. Inspired by the exodus of Venezuelans, over 4 million since 2014, Natalya's vibrant abstracts weave historical maps and symbols throughout. The exhibit includes "The Long Walk" a colossal canvas that represents the distance many Venezuelans walk as they flee their country.
Natalya will also have additional exhibits including interpretations of Caracas urban landscapes. Natalya explains: "Seen at a distance, overshadowed by concrete walls, the beautiful light still reveals colour in all its splendour. The tropical sun illuminates the ruins as graciously as the exuberant vegetation that bursts forth."
Venezuelan and American rum tastings will be available for purchase at the Exhibit. Although this is a free event, we have limited space and recommend that you register via Eventbrite or call (269)200-2223 to reserve.
