The University Symphonic Band is excited to perform James Mobberley's Words of Love with renowned soprano, Lindsay Kesselman, in her second performance in as many days with WMU wind ensembles. The piece includes text from love letters written by Mobberley's father to his mother and showcases poetic love in true form. Prix de Rome winner and Guggenheim fellow Mobberley brilliantly uses the colors available to the modern wind ensemble to compliment both the the soprano voice and the delicacy of the text.

The rest of the program includes great pieces for winds from composers like Malcolm Arnold, Norman Dello Joio, Michael Colgrass and more.
