A symposium at the KIA.
For artists, collectors, and scholars. We ll examine the evolving visual language and national discourse around artists of color as advanced by collectors, artists, and arts institutions. Panels include Access for Artists of Color in Museums and Cultivating Change/Making Space with guests Stephanie James, Curator/Collection Educator at the Mott-Warsh Collection, Flint, and George N'Namdi, Director, N'Namdi Center for Contemporary Art, Detroit. An afternoon Artists Spotlight will feature guests Samuel Levi Jones, Bethany Collins, and Al Lavergne. Presenting and moderating will be KIA Executive Director Belinda Tate and Chief Curator Rehema Barber.
