KALAMAZOO—Don't Look Down, a new composition written and performed by University of Wisconsin–Madison Mead Witter School of Music colleagues Tom Curry (tuba, keyboard and electronics), Mark Hetzler (trombone and electronics) and Anthony Di Sanza (percussion), will be performed in the Dalton Center Recital Hall on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 7:30 p.m. That same afternoon from 1-3 p.m. Professors Hetzler, Curry and Di Sanza will be offering master classes in Dalton Center on their respective instruments. Both the master classes and the evening performance are open to the public at no charge.
Using a combination of electro-acoustic techniques, improvisation and traditional chamber music applications, Don’t Look Down showcases an array of sonic environments, shifting soundscapes and diverse musical styles (classical, rock and experimental), all while exploring the impact of media and technology on society.
