Recycled Art in the Park

Presented by Portage Parks & Recreation at Celery Flats - Historical Area

To promote recycling in the City of Portage, Portage Parks & Recreation is partnering with the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo to present the 6th annual Recycled Art in the Park. On Saturday, October 6 the event will kick off with musical entertainment, public viewing, "Rat Rod" exhibition, recycled vendor tent and this year's new event artists Spotlight Demonstrations. Refreshments will be available for purchase. The artists exhibits will be displayed for public viewing through Saturday, October 13.

The Recycled Art in the Park Contest and Event was organized to promote recycling in the City of Portage. The Contest which began in 2013, features sculptures using 100% recycled materials that will be displayed in Celery Flats for one week. This is not a juried art show but a venue for artists to express their creativity and create public awareness on recycling. Public voting and judging are conducted with prizes awarded at the opening day ceremony, except the Public Choice Award which is given after the online voting period ends the following week. All artwork will be displayed outside at Celery Flats for public viewing.
