In 1974, Colleen Rockey, a recent graduate of WMU, was one of six artists chosen by the City of Kalamazoo to paint outdoor murals. Of the original six, Colleen's mural in Corporation Alley is the only one remaining.

This past summer Colleen returned to Kalamazoo to restore the faded colors and peeling paint. With the help and cooperation of the Comerica Bank Building management, the City of Kalamazoo and the building owner and current tenant (Climb! Kalamazoo) she restored the mural to its original beauty. Colleen views the restoration of this public art as a benefit for the City of Kalamazoo and a gift to the people who reside here.
