Sherrill Roland’s Jumpsuit Project (2016 - present) developed out of the artist’s personal experience of wrongful incarceration. With the goal of sparking conversation that addresses our ideas about incarceration, Roland’s performance involves wearing an orange jumpsuit, standing within an area the size of a prison cell, and engaging in dialogue about prisons and people.
