Weaving together songwriter Porter's brilliant wit, poignant harmony, and memorable melodies with the superb acting talent and comic timing of equity actor Rob Johnson of Indianapolis, The Cole Porter Radio Hour sees its fifth performance in the Midwest at its debut in Kalamazoo.
The setting is a 1940's cabaret as the songwriter looks back on his own life interspersing story and song in a seamless picture of an artist's life; its ups and its downs. With over 12 well-known songs, the show features 12 cast members, an ensemble of 32, and an onstage band.
We are excited to team up with WMUK to provide a post concert listening experience and reception featuring "Prohibition-era cocktails to include the Bee's Knees and the classic Manhattan featuring Grand Traverse Distillery's Peninsula gin and Ole George Rye Whiskey. Midwest Brand Ambassador and Educator Angie Jackson, aka the "Traveling Elixir Fixer" will be on hand to serve and discuss these fabulous cocktails."
