Since 1985, the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo has honored local arts supporters through the annual Community Arts Awards. Awards are presented in seven categories: Community Medal of Arts, Theodore C. Cooper Award for Distinguished Volunteer Service, Business Arts Award, Adam F. Carter Young Artist Award, Patron Award, Epic Award and Gayle Hoogstraten Arts Leadership Award.

The Community Arts Awards will be presented on Sunday, August 26th at 4:00 p.m. at the Kalamazoo Civic Theatre. It is free and open to the public. A reception at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts will follow the presentation. The reception is free but reservations would be appreciated.
