The Cabtown Checkers is a nine-piece ensemble performing original arrangements of the premier jazz standards – Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, and originals in that era’s style. Great dance music and standards from the Americana repertoire of music. The Cabtown Checkers have been playing on the Kalamazoo scene since 2016, entertaining audiences at local events that include the Afternoon Jazz in the Garden at Bell’s Garden and the KIA Art Fair.

Kindleberger Summer Festival of the Performing Arts

The 37th Annual Kindleberger Summer Festival of the Performing Arts, The Stage at Kindleberger promises to be outstanding with a wide variety of acts, which has something for everyone.  The Summer Concert Series schedule is a diverse collection of music performing over seven weekends. Concerts begin at 6:30 p.m.  Come and enjoy a relaxing evening in Kindleberger Park at The Stage.
