The Crescendo Fiddlers was formed in 2006 by Sarah Hedlund to give violin students the opportunity to explore their interest in folk fiddle music. Since then, the group has grown to include not just violinists but violas, guitar and bass. Membership has always spanned multiple generations. Their music also spans multiple cultures, including Celtic, American, Swedish, Scottish, and Chinese fiddling styles. Now in their 11th year and led by Joanna Steinhauser, the Fiddlers have become a sought-after group on the Kalamazoo folk music scene.
