Farmers Alley Theatre is proud to welcome home Michigan native and Broadway star, Danny Gurwin to Kalamazoo for the special Spotlight Series concert event, RAGS TO RICHES: The Music of Tony Bennett on May 19th & 20th.  To be performed at the Little Theatre on Oakland Drive with music direction by Jamie Reed, this unique concert event will feature some of the greatest songs of the 20th century like “The Best is Yet to Come”, “Rags to Riches”, “I Left My Heart in San Francisco” and many more!  Plus there might just be some special guests to share a song or two.

Danny Gurwin is a native of Southfield, MI who received his BFA from the University of Michigan.  He made his Broadway premiere in the musical The Scarlet Pimpernel, as has since gone on to star in the Broadway productions of Urinetown, The Full Monty and opposite Sutton Foster as “Laurie” in the musical adaptation of the classic, Little Women.  Now he serves as the head of the Musical Theatre Department at the University of Arizona, while he continues to tour the country with his numerous concert events.

RAGS TO RICHES: The Music of Tony Bennett will be performed Friday and Saturday, May 19th & 20th at 8pm at the Little Theatre on Oakland Drive.  Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for students.
