Ekphrastic poetry - poems inspired by art: This workshop will be in the spirit of e.e. cummings, playful and imaginative, and will focus on the art festival theme: "illimitably earth." We'll look at several of cummings' poems as well as the art works displayed for the festival. Writers will choose one particular work of art in the show for inspiration. Guided in-class writings will capture first impressions for our own poems. Group feedback will allow for refining our poems. Workshop is led by Danna Ephland who teaches indie poetry workshops called The Left Margin. Her poems have appeared in journals including Rhino, Indiana Review, Folio. A Small Acrylic Frame won the Celery City Chapbook Competition 2015.

The April workshop will focus on beginning poets. May 6th will be aimed at more advanced poets.
