Queer Theatre Kalamazoo will present March of the Falsettos - a hit musical by William Finn.
March of the Falsettos is a sequal to Finn’s In Trousers. This one-act musical continues the story of Marvin and his desperate search for love and
acceptance from others, and himself. His twisted family consists of his ex-wife, Trina, his young son, Jason, his lover, Whizzer, and his psychiatrist, Mendel, who only complicates matters when becomes involved with Trina. Amidst the chaos, can Marvin find solace in mending his relationship with his son, before it's too late?
Director Jena Sugay states, “This show is really about how to continue to love each other even
when tensions are high, and how to include one another and to maintain conversation - positive
conversation...I think that’s really important right now, especially with the inclusion of children in
these conversations so they don’t feel left out, so they feel they are involved in the issues, and
they can have their own conversations, forming their own opinions.”
March of the Falsettos plays February 9-12 at Fire Historical and Cultural Arts Collaborative, 1249 Portage Rd.
Tickets are $10 for 7 pm shows on Feb 9-12, and pay-what-you-can for the 3 pm matinees on Feb 11 & 12.
Tickets may be purchased at the door or on www.qtkalamazoo.com
The production is directed by recent Western Michigan University Theatre program graduate Jena Sugay. Sugay also currently serves as QTK’s resident director, and the director of Jeremy Hermann’s Crossroad, to be presented at the TK New Play Festival Feb 3rd at 7 pm and Feb
4th at 2 pm. March of the Falsettos stars local actors Shannon Fleckenstein, RJ Soule, Cash Maciel, Molly
Hill, and Charlie Sauliano. Music direction by Patrick Hill.
