HANSEL and GRETEL

HANSEL and GRETEL

Presented by Ballet Arts Ensemble at Chenery Auditorium

To open this year’s 35th season, Ballet Arts Ensemble and Artistic Director Cathleen Huling premiere their new production—Hansel and Gretel—at 2:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday, November 12 and 13, at Chenery Auditorium. A Hansel and Gretel Tea follows each performance and requires purchasing an additional ticket.

With her usual creative talents, Ms. Huling choreographed a wonderful, balletic rendition of the popular Brothers Grimm fairytale, set to the music of Edward Elgar. The storyline follows the traditional Hansel and Gretel tale of two children abandoned deep in the forest by their stepmother. Unable to find their way home, they wander in the woods and are befriended by magical creatures who are led by a kind unicorn and a beautiful snow-white bird. Ultimately, they come upon a house made of candy, owned by an old blind witch.

Please join us to find out how Hansel and Gretel’s journey ends! Tickets go on sale at the Miller Auditorium Box Office (269.387.2300 or 800.228.9858) on Monday, October 3.
