Epic Broadway! musical theater camp is a week long day camp for kids age 13-18, running from August 1-August 5 in the Epic Center. This program is a collaboration between Crescendo Academy of Music and Wellspring/Cori Terry & Dancers. Class will be held daily from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, with a half-hour for lunch; instruction includes dance, vocal technique, and performance coaching each day. While Wellspring dance technique is rooted in the modern tradition, multiple types of dance will be explored. Students will also learn several aspects of effective acting technique as it pertains to Musical Theater performance.  They will work on how to interpret the lyrics, researching and developing the character, blocking and stage movement. Each student will also receive private vocal instruction.

At the end of the week, participants will perform for the August Art Hop (Friday, August 5) in the Wellspring Theater. Instructors include Brent Decker (accompanist and vocal coach), Shannon Scoles (vocal technique), Victoria Jackson (vocal technique), Corlyn Schreck (acting/vocal technique and coaching), and Jasmine Statzer (dance).

This year, Epic Broadway! will feature music of the pre-1940s, focusing on composers such as Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, and George Gershwin.
