Named after nineteenth century German poet Christian Morgenstern, the Morgenstern Triomade a very strong impression when they first appeared at the Gilmore Keyboard Festival in 2012. One of the first recipients of the prestigious Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio Award, the ensemble has garnered enthusiastic receptions wherever they perform. Catherine Klipfel, piano, Stefan Hempel, violin, and Emanuel Wehse, cellist, formed the award-winning group during their time at the Folkwang Conservatory in Essen, Germany.
Their program consists of Haydn's Piano Trio in E-flat Major, Hob. XV:29; Pierre Jalbert's Piano Trio No. 2; and Schubert's Piano Trio in E-flat Major, D. 929.
