The Theatre Kalamazoo (TK) New Play Festival will feature staged readings of new plays by 9 local playwrights, each produced by a local theatre in one weekend:  February 5-6, 2016 at the Epic Theatre in downtown Kalamazoo. All events are FREE and open to the public. Staged readings of the new 10-minute and One-Act plays are performed and directed by local actors and directors representing the member theatres of TK.  Playwrights being featured in the festival are Kendra Ann Flournoy, Cara Beth Heath, Miranda Lopez, R.D. Rivers, Erin Shelton, Darcy Ann Sturges, Nick Thornton, Austin Wines, and a special new play, Lyrical Invasion by area theatre professional Von Washington, Sr.

To launch the festival on Friday, February 5 at 7pm, TK is honored to collaborate with the WMU Gwen Frostic Reading Series to feature a new work by accomplished and published playwright, Adam Szymkowicz.  A reception for the public will follow the reading of his play. Friday Feb. 5:
7pm  Reading & Discussion with Guest Artist Adam Symkowicz, followed by reception
9pm  Performance of Three 10-Minute Plays:

                 The Test  by Darcy Sturges (Festival Playhouse of Kalamazoo College)
                 Lyrical Invasion by Von Washington (Face Off Theatre) Saturday Feb. 6:
