LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION is an exhibition of art of urban, suburban, and rural environments to be displayed at LowellArts June 2 to July 24, 2018. Artists are invited to submit artwork for the exhibition, in any medium, both two-dimensional and three-dimensional, from Michigan artists ages 14+. Entries may include cityscapes, landscapes, or other locations where people dwell. The exhibition will be juried to ensure that artwork fits the theme and is appropriate for all viewing audiences.
Call for Entries
Eligibility: Open to all visual arts media, artists 14 years or older residing in Michigan. Only original works completed in the last two years and not previously exhibited at the LowellArts are eligible.
Deadline: Deadline for entry is Tuesday, May 1, at 9:59pm EST.
Number of Entries: Each artist may submit up to two works in any medium.
Entry Fee: There is a $30 fee to enter, or $20 for LowellArts Members. LowellArts Members are asked to call 616-897-8545 for a discount code prior to entry.
Entry Process: All entries will be processed online through CaFÉ™ at www.callforentry.org. CaFÉ™ is free to participating artists. Artists are encouraged to use the tutorials provided by CaFÉ™ to guide them through the entry process. For further assistance, contact email@example.com or 616-897-8545.
Entry Guidelines: Artists are invited to submit artwork for an exhibition representing urban, suburban, and rural environments. Entries may include cityscapes, landscapes, or other locations where people dwell. Entries may also include abstract representations that create a sense of place. Artists are asked to submit 1 to 3 sentences about how their artwork fits this theme. This is a juried exhibition to ensure artwork adheres to the theme and is appropriate for all viewing audiences. LowellArts reserves the right to not display artwork that differs from the submitted images or information provided by the artist.
Artwork Sales: Accepted artwork must remain on display for the duration of the exhibit. LowellArts will take a 30% commission on all artwork sold during the exhibition. Artwork may also be listed as NFS (not for sale).
Notification and Delivery: Artists will be notified of acceptance via email on 5/10/18. All accepted artwork should be hand-delivered or shipped to the LowellArts Gallery at 223 W Main St, Lowell, MI, 49331. Accepted entries can be dropped off May 29 or 30 from 10am-6pm. All packing and shipping costs are the responsibility of the artist.
Presentation: All work must be properly framed and ready for display. All 2-dimensional work must have secure hanging wire or D-Rings. Exposed glass edges and saw tooth hangers are not allowed. All hanging, 3-dimensional entries must have adequate hanging hardware and hanging systems. All artwork must be able to fit through a standard door and easily handled by two people. Please provide a detailed description if your piece (or pieces) require special installation instructions (if the artwork requires non-standard means of hanging, i.e. if the piece hangs in front of a wall or hangs from the ceiling). Pieces that are determined to be too heavy or too difficult to hang will not be accepted.
Pickup: Entries can be picked up July 17 or 18 from 10am-6pm.
