Western Michigan University’s School of Music, along with the Frostic School of Art and the Departments of Dance and Theatre, comprise the first College of Fine Arts to be created by a Michigan university. The School of Music has a selective enrollment of 438 majors who are served by 40 full-time faculty, 30 graduate assistants, and 11 professional staff. It is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. Programs in music therapy are certified by the American Music Therapy Association.
