The Green Book: Guide to Freedom
This Smithsonian Channel documentary tells the real story of the Green Book, which helped African-Americans navigate safe passage across America from the 1930s-1960s. Published by Victor Green, a Black postal carrier from Harlem, the book was part travel guide and part survival guide, officially called The Negro Motorist Green Book.
