Turning Bronson Park Inside Out

Engage with arts education! This ARTbreak is led by Mandy Clearwaters, who serves as the Kalamazoo Public Schools’ Lead Art Teacher and Winchell Elementary Art Teacher. As part of her role, she is the bridge between KPS fine arts and the greater Kalamazoo community.

In Clearwaters’ latest community engagement endeavor, she and her team used the Inside Out Project platform to create a public installation of photographed portraits in Bronson Park. “We Are Kalamazoo Artists” was the heartbeat statement behind the nearly 1,000 faces shown along the park’s sidewalks in May 2023.
