The Basics of Unarmed Stage Combat

With a focus on acting – and learning to react during combat – this master class will cover the basics of falling and “fighting” on stage while learning how to advocate for your safety in the rehearsal room. Techniques such as correct spacing, stance and balance, and cuing signals between partners will be covered. 

Note: We will be following the same COVID-19 protocols as is recommended for other contact sports such as karate. If the recommendations from the Kalamazoo County Department of Health and Human Services changes, we will postpone the class until we are able to conduct this workshop safely.
