Quarter Staff: The Long and Short of It

Students will be introduced to the use of quarterstaff in stage combat. Topics will include holding the staff, ready stance, and lines of attack. The importance of knowing your combat map and thorough practice will be covered as well as how to advocate for your personal safety in the rehearsal room.

Note:  We will be following the same COVID-19 protocols as is recommended for other contact sports such as karate.  If the recommendations from the Kalamazoo County Department of Health and Human Services changes, we will postpone the class until we are able to conduct this workshop safely.
