ABOUT THE MUSICIANS:
“One of the top five classical recordings of the decade.” -John Schaefer, WNYC, on the GVSU New Music Ensemble’s Music for 18 Musicians
The New Music Ensemble at Grand Valley State University promotes the music of our time, from landmark compositions of the Twentieth Century, to the most recent works of this new century. Led by director Bill Ryan, their concerts are stimulating, entertaining and unpredictable.
The group has been profiled in numerous publications including Newsweek, the New York Times, and Billboard Magazine, and featured on NPR’s Weekend Edition, All Things Considered, and WNYC’s Radiolab.
ABOUT THE DANCERS:
Wellspring has proven itself to be one of Michigan’s premiere modern dance companies throughout its 35-year history. Artistic Director Cori Terry studied and performed all over the world with the Erick Hawkins Dance Company; this experience firmly established her among an elite group of nationally-acclaimed professional dancers. Highlights of Wellspring’s history include performances with leading artists of the dance industry, such as Mathew Janczewski of Arena Dance Company in Minneapolis, New York’s Christopher Williams, the Artichoke Dance Company of New York, Zephyr Dance of Chicago, and several years as guest artists for the Erick Hawkins centennial and the Hawkins/Graham celebration at New York’s 92nd Street Y.
Tickets are $23 general admission, $20 senior, $10 student (with ID), and $10 ages 17 and under.
