Kim Shaw at August Art Hop in ACGK's Westin Gallery

“Flow” is a body of work put together to explore the 2022 August Art Hop theme of PROCESS. This show is unlike any I have done before because most of the work is in progress, unfinished, or projects set on pause. During preparation I have vacillated between feelings of fear and freedom – showing myself publicly in such a vulnerable way. My hope is this theme will encourage artists to break open and away from the social pressure to display all of your polished self in one show. Stand up to that voice inside that tells us, “this is your one chance to show the world who you are.” An opportunity to detach from the outcome and LIVE in the process.

All of us are in some process of living, creating, becoming right now. Unraveling. The journey can be messy, but through it there is much to discover and learn about ourselves. Grateful for this opportunity to explore the mystery and I hope you will meet me in it.
