Kalamazoo Poetry Festival 2021

The 2021 Kalamazoo Poetry Festival is taking place virtually on Friday, April 16 and Saturday, April 17. This year’s theme is “From the Wreckage,” and will feature poetry readings, an open mic night, free workshops, and more. We hope you will join us at these free online events.

Featured Readers

We are thrilled to announce that the featured readers for the 2021 festival are Patricia Smith and Danez smith! They will give a shared performance via livestream. We will also be joined by musical guest Honeybear.

Craft Talk

In addition to our featured readers Danez Smith and Patricia Smith giving a reading, they are also participiating in a craft talk, moderated by Denise Miller. Come listen to these amazing poets talk about their work, the writing process, and anything else they think up!

Workshops

All workshops are held via Zoom meeting. Click the “Register” button at the bottom of a workshop to sign up. All workshop events are free to attend.
