Kalamazoo Art League has offered lectures promoting understanding, appreciation, and enjoyment of the visual arts for KIA’s members and our community since 1955. During the pandemic, these lectures are free via Zoom meetings.
Dr. Virginia M. Mecklenburg, Chief Curator Smithsonian American Art Museum, will present one of American’s iconic artists on March 10 at 10:00 am. Hopper’s watercolors are quite different from his better-known oils. However, it was the luminous watercolors from the summers of 1923 and 1924 that catapulted Hopper to fame.
