Justin Bernhardt has been creating art since he was a child growing up next door to artists on either side of his home in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
He earned an MFA from Goddard College in Plainfield, Vermont in 2013. He earned a BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1999. He has owned and operated two art galleries exhibiting his own work and the work of other artists. Bernhardt’s art has been purchased for public and private collections throughout the world. Since 2002, he has taught art at Kalamazoo Valley Community College. He lives with his wife on a wetland protect lake in Southwest Michigan.
