Encaustigraphics look like stained glass, but with only a fraction of the weight. Easy to make with readily available materials, they can be cut, pierced and shaped into flat or structural forms with simple methods like hand or machine sewing, wiring or taping. The best part is that you can use any image to create them – photographs, drawings, paintings, sketchbook details or just abstract colors and designs. This class will teach you the basic method for making e*graphics and then explore ways to use them in colorful, luminous works of art like books, window hangings, jewelry or sculptures.
